How it works
If you smoke 25 cigarettes or fewer a day, try the 2 mg gum.
If you smoke more than 25 cigarettes a day, try the 4 mg gum.
How to Use
Chew the gum slowly until the taste becomes strong.
When the taste is strong, rest the gum between your jaw and cheek. The nicotine is absorbed by your mouth’s lining.
After the taste has faded, resume chewing the gum until the taste becomes strong again.
Keep repeating steps 2 and 3 for about 30 minutes.
Ready to quit smoking completely? Chew a piece of nicotine gum whenever you feel the urge to smoke, use the above table as a guide. Over time, you’ll need to chew less and less gum to control your nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms. We recommend gradually reducing the number of pieces of gum that you chew as suggested in the User Guide.
DO NOT EXCEED 20 PIECES PER DAY.
Do not chew more than one piece of NICORETTE® Gum at a time.

If the amounts of NICORETTE® Gum you are taking do not help you stop smoking, talk with your healthcare provider about using more than one type of nicotine replacement therapy at the same time.

NICORETTE® Gum is a medicine that can help you stop smoking by reducing withdrawal symptoms and nicotine cravings and can help double your chances of quitting successfully. It can be used to quit immediately (Stop to Quit) or to quit gradually (REDUCE TO QUIT®) by reducing the numbrer of cigarettes you smoke each day. It can also be used in cases in which you temporarily refrain from smoking, for example, in smoke-free areas or in other situations when you wish to avoid smoking. You can also use NICODERM® Patch in combination with NICORETTE® Gum for a successful quit.
